About
Fuzzy Lights was born in 2004 and has since grown
from a two-piece violin and electric guitar duo to a five-piece
band. This gradual change in line-up has allowed them to build on
their sound and, with the release of their highly acclaimed second
album 'Twin Feathers' in August this year, Fuzzy Lights brought
their music to the crossroads of 1960's British folk and haunted
noise-rock. It is this unlikely intertwining which truly defines
their sound.
'Live At Union Chapel' documents their show at London's Union
Chapel in December 2009. Captured on a single ambient mic at a
night presented by the adventurous promoters Arctic Circle, it is
available as a free download. Recorded as the band were working on
2010's highly acclaimed 'Twin Feathers' album, the five songs show
the transition from the largely instrumental debut 'A Distant
Voice' to the vocal-led songs of 'Twin Feathers'. The Union Chapel
is an ideal setting for Fuzzy Lights. Dating from 1877, the chapel
is an irregular octagon designed to allow preachers of the day to
be seen and heard by all 1,700 worshippers. The acoustics of the
space amplify the subtle drama of these songs perfectly.
